THE PRESENCE OF EVERYTHING

Architecture is about a sense of place, the meaning discovered there. In ancient times the Romans referred to this as genius loci. In Southeast Asia, san phra phum or "house for the spirit of the land." Architecture is the meeting of all these qualities in a place, an atmosphere. In my work, the expression and even explanation of such qualities are the underlying and ever-present provocation of making and meaning. Every project holds this new beginning. Enclosed here and entrusted to you are images which explore the meaning of place, and of simply being in the presence of everything.

For this project, I was responsible for the integration and concinnity of all Revit modeling information from A/E, and handled most of the architectural modeling with support from the team. In addition to the design aspect of the project, I led the Revit team as we developed construction details and reports for building refinement for Permit.

Program: Dwelling Units, temporary

My role in this competition, in collaboration with Alex Villa (University of Arizona, MARC 2017), included design, modeling, architectural visualizations, and presentation boards. Together we composed lyrical sonnets to create a story out of the sequences of architectural spaces and situations.
